2017 Cadillac Escalade Luxury Collection
In a world where luxury seems to be the norm, the Cadillac Escalade still holds a unique spot. Many vehicles can compete and even pose a challenge to the well-known Caddy, but they’re no match for its power, technology, and of course its luxury features. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the 2017 Cadillac Escalade Luxury Collection, the Escalade Luxury and Escalade Premium Luxury.
Under the hood of the 2017 Cadillac Escalade Luxury and Premium Luxury is a mighty 6.2-liter V8 engine, generating 420-horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. That amount of force and power gives the SUV a maximum towing capacity of 8,300 pounds. Paired with an eight-speed transmission, the Escalade Luxury and Premium Luxury get up to 22 mpg on the highway, not bad compared to other large SUVs out there.
Of course, any vehicle considered a luxury vehicle has a lot more going for it than the power it offers. Features found on the inside and outside really make it enjoyable to drive or ride in.
The 2017 Cadillac Escalade Luxury Collection comes standard with LED high-beam/low-beam headlamps and full LED tail-lamps, plus automatic on/off features thanks to IntelliBeam technology. It has an acoustic windshield that is also solar absorbing to keep the interior cabin from heating up or affecting passengers as well as providing a quiet, calm ride.
If LED lights and protective windshields doesn’t spell luxury, perhaps the power sunroof and open air is more your deal. The sunroof is standard on both trims, and removing it is an available feature on both. The Escalade’s exterior mirrors are heated to keep them from fogging up and obscuring vision, and for increasing carrying capacity, black roof cross rails are available, but a roof-mounted luggage rack already comes standard. These are only some highlighted features on the exterior, and the wheel options range from the standard 17 inches to available 22 inches in twelve various designs.
The interior is just as spiced up as the exterior, already coming with all-weather floor mats to keep the cabin clean, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror to keep glare out of the driver’s eyes. As noted, thanks to the acoustic windshield, the drive is quiet but also lovely thanks to standard heated and cooled driver and front passenger seats, heated second-row sets, a heated steering wheel, and tri-zone automatic climate control.
The interior color scheme is available as jet black leather with matching accents or cocoa. Up to seven-passengers can sit comfortably in the 2017 Cadillac Escalade Luxury and Premium Luxury, but the first five will surely be spoiled to all the vehicle has to offer.
Some seating arrangements for cargo also come with these Caddy’s. Standard is a power folding third-row 60/40 split-bench, an available second-row power 60/40 split-folding bench, and a rear cargo net. Another standard feature is Teen-Driver. This is a system that gives parents customizable options to encourage safe driving behavior, as well as limit some features and provide in-vehicle reports.
For the driver, a 12-inch reconfigurable high-resolution instrument cluster comes standard, as does a 4-color reconfigurable HUD and driver information center. Entertainment is taken care of by a Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound 16-speaker audio system, along with rear-seat entertainment systems with in-dash DVD player and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
Convenience features are everywhere in the 2017 Cadillac Escalade Luxury and Premium Luxury. These consist of adaptive remote start, adaptive cruise control (Escalade Luxury only), an available interior protection package, and keyless open and start. There’s also Bluetooth integrated for phone/audio services with natural voice recognition, Cadillac Cue on an 8-inch color touch screen with navigation embedded, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, both standard features on both trims. NavTraffic for live traffic updates also comes standard as do various OnStar plans (4G LTE, Basic, and Guidance).
Safety is far from being skimped on in a Luxury vehicle; all that great gadgetry is worthless if the impact is imminent. With that in mind, forward collision alert and adaptive cruise control come standard in both Luxury trims. Many modern safety features are actually found in these vehicles, such as Lane Change Alert and Lane Keep Assist, Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking (Premium Luxury only), Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, StabiliTrak for keeping the vehicle stable, and Surround Vision for a bird’s-eye view of the vehicle’s surroundings.
Of course, a dual-stage airbag system comes standard, along with side airbags for rear passenger protection. Other safety features include a theft-deterrent system that flashes lights and sounds the horn when someone attempts to access the car without the proper key on-hand, a rear camera mirror, and a full theft-deterrent package comes standard on both trims. Many standard OnStar powered features come standard, such as crisis assist, emergency services, hands-free calling, roadside assistance, and much more.
