2017 Ram Models

Ram 1500

The Ram 1500 is a light-duty pickup truck and it is available with three engine options. Engine options include the standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine and a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine. The Ram 1500 is the only light-duty truck on the market that is available with a diesel engine and it makes the Ram 1500 one of the most fuel efficient trucks as well. Depending on the chosen engine, horsepower ranges between 305 and 395 horses, and torque ranges between 265 and 410 lb-ft. Of torque. When equipped with the 3.6L engine, the Ram 1500 can tow up to 7,300 pounds and when equipped with the 5.7L HEMI engine, the Ram 1500 can tow up to 10,700 pounds.

The Ram 1500 base model, the Ram 1500 Tradesman, comes standard with interior features including a 40/20/40 split folding bench seat, a behind seat storage bin, heavy duty vinyl seats, and black vinyl floor mats. Other options available on a variety of Ram 1500 trims include trim leather seats, heated seats, all-weather rubber floor mats, an overhead console, a heated steering wheel and so much more. The Ram 1500 comes standard with 17-inch wheels, black bumpers, and halogen quad headlights, but there are several upgrades on various trims.

2500/3500

The Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 are heavy duty truck options. The biggest difference between the two models is that the Ram 3500 is a little bigger and it is the only model available with the Cummins Turbo Diesel engine, which puts out best-in-class 930 lb-ft of torque.

The Ram 2500 and 3500 are available with a few engine options and the base engine is the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine that puts out 450 horsepower, 400 lb-ft of torque and can tow up to 17,980 pounds. Other engine options include a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine that offers up to 16,210 pounds of towing capacity, and the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine, that has an available maximum towing capacity of 31,000 pounds.

Both models come with plenty of options! All trims are the same, except the Ram 2500 offers the option of the off-road beast, the Ram 2500 Power Wagon. Other trims include Limited, Laramie Longhorn, Laramie SLT and Tradesman. Standard interior features/highlights includes 40/20/40 split-bench front seats, heavy-duty vinyl, and a six-speaker audio system. The higher up on the trim lineup, the more luxurious the models get. Interior features like leather seats, a 5-inch or 8.4-inch touchscreen with UConnect, and heated and ventilated seats are available.

Commercial

Need a commercial vehicle? Ram is your brand! There are three different commercial model options including the ProMaster City, Ram ProMaster and Ram Chassis Cab models. Each of these models have plenty of configuration options, upfits, and features for the most customized work truck for the drivers needs.

Small and efficient, the Ram ProMaster City is a commercial van that offers plenty of room for cargo, however, isn’t too big and bulky. The van comes with four different trims/configurations including Cargo Van, SLT Cargo Van, Wagon and Wagon SLT. Each ProMaster City model comes with the same capable 1788 horsepower 2.4-liter Tigershark engine with best-in-class highway fuel economy (28 mpg). Both cargo van options come with an impressive 131.7 cubic feet of cargo volume and nearly vertical cargo walls for easy upfitting. The ProMaster City Wagon models have cloth 60/40 fold and tumble second-row seats.

The Ram ProMaster is a larger version of the ProMaster City. The ProMaster has four different configurations as well including the Cargo Van, Window Van, Chassis Cab and Cutaway Van options. Each of these have different purposes and features, but all have one thing in common, the engine. The engine for these vans is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produced best-in-class 280 horsepower and can tow up to 5,100 pounds. The Cargo Van option comes with highlights including 460 cubic feet of cargo space, a 36-foot turning diameter and 65.4-inches of standard cargo height. Highlights of the window van include standard deep tint glass, plenty of cargo and seat space and an available rearview backup camera. The Chassis Cab comes with 96-inch extended exterior mirrors, a wide rear axle, and a premium heavy-duty suspension with a rear sway bar. The Cutaway option comes with all the highlights of the chassis cab as well as love frame height, bulb-out detection for LED lamps and two cab-to-axle lengths 81-inches or 104-inches.

For serious heavy-duty and commercial needs, there is the line of Ram Chassis Cab models. Available chassis cab configurations include 3500 SRW 10K GVWR Tradesman 3500 Tradesman, 4500 Tradesman, 5500 Tradesman, 3500 SRW 10K GVWR SLT, 3500 SLT, 4500 SLT, 5500 SLT, 3500 SRW 10K GVWR Laramie, 3500 Laramie, 4500 Laramie, and 5500 Laramie. All trims are available in 4X2 or 4X4 drive, come with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine, have 50,000-PSI rear frame strength and more. Trims vary based on capability and interior/exterior features. Tradesman trims are base level, SLT middle and Laramie most fully-loaded trims.
