The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV Is Driver’s Auto Mart Used Car Of The Week!

June 19th, 2020 by

Chevrolet is so much more than its weight lifting Silverado or its sporty Corvette, its capabilities in being able to produce vehicles that are highly efficient yet affordable are what makes it a lovable brand for consumers, especially it’s eco-friendly all-electric 2017 Chevrolet Bolt Premier. This vehicle is spirited, has a highly developed battery pack, an interior that provides much comfort, is equipped with a wide range of standard tech features, and all for an affordable price around $20,000. It’s also why it’s Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!

Engine and Drive

The Bolt EV joins forces with a highly capable 60-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that pushes an incredible 200-horsepower with 266 lb-ft of torque. Power is focused on the front wheels by a one-speed automatic transmission that has the ability to launch the subcompact vehicle from 0-60 mph in as little as 6.5 seconds and with a maximum speed of 91 mph.

The electric model includes a standard 110V charging system, though it gets the job done, it can eat up a driver’s time. Luckily, buyers can elect for a 240V home-charging system that reduces the revival time by nine hours or better yet, the available DC Fast Charging, which adds on 90 miles of range in only 30 minutes.

The drive is highly engaging and energetic. Its battery pack is responsible for over a quarter of the Bolt’s entire weight, but it’s minimal, and its central placement aids in the betterment of the car’s balance.

One highlight is the One Pedal-Driving, which uses regenerative braking. This entraps energy that would alternatively become lost from deceleration and pushes it back to the vehicle’s battery pack for the utmost vehicle range. This system also lets the driver stop the car without the use of a brake pedal, depending on certain situations.

The miniature-like vehicle incorporates a combination of modern Chevrolet design elements and other aspects that is almost guaranteed to turn heads. It has a very likable profile that is contoured and defined, it also has bright and black trim that has some familiarity with some of the brand’s SUV models. Exterior highlights of its higher trims include full LED front and rear lighting, with the front sporting turn signals on its side-mirrors.

Interior and Features

The cabin is nothing short of cozy and quiet. The styling is very trendy and progressive, and even strategic in not making a large amount of hard plastic obvious. The Driver Information Center and 10.2-inch touch screen takes over the dashboard, with both providing EV-centered data for the vehicle’s operation. The Bolt features a 60/40-split rear bench seat that is welcoming for full-fledged adults. Cargo capacity is also increased from 16.9 cubic-feet to 56.6 when the seatbacks are folded in.

Standard features include a plethora of power assists, a tilt/telescoping multifunction steering wheel, Keyless Open and Start, a programmable Charge Control system, Chevy MyLink Radio with OnStar 4G LTE/Wi-Fi, SiriusXM satellite radio, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay support, dual USB ports, rear heater ducts, GM’s Teen Driver technology and 10 airbags.

The Premier comes with leather rather than premium cloth and adds on a heated steering wheel and front seats, auto-dimming Rear Camera Mirror, Side Blind Zone Alert/Lane Change Alert, Rear Park Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert systems, which are all optional features on the LT trim, including Surround Vision, Rear Park Assist and heated folding mirrors.
