The 2018 Cadillac ATS Is Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!
The 2018 Cadillac ATS was known as an affordable luxury compact car and was previously one of the brand’s least expensive models. This executive car was made available either as a sedan or coupe. It also packed plenty of power in the engine options, had lots of advanced technologies to work with, and had remarkable style. All of these positives adds to the list of reasons why it’s been chosen as Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!
Engine and Drive
The 2018 Cadillac ATS sedan/coupe has two dynamic engine options to choose from. For the first two entry-level trims: ATS and Luxury, they are powered by a lively 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder motor. This engine produces 272 horsepower with 295 lb-ft of torque. Then, the Premium Luxury and Premium Performance ATS models use a 3.6-liter V6 engine, with 335 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque.
Each model is equipped with a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) system, while all-wheel-drive (AWD) is optional. Those who prefer a manual transmission will only find it on the 2.0-L engine with RWD, while the rest are paired with a smooth as silk 8-speed automatic transmission.
Obviously, buyers that want the utmost power can opt for the 464 horsepowered ATS-V model, which is geared by a 3.6-liter V6 twin-turbo engine. However, there’s a whole other review for that…
The drive on all models is simply invigorating, but then again, you shouldn’t expect any less when it comes to the Cadillac company. Of course, with the V6 engine, you’ll get a bit…or rather a lot of pep in your step. The 8-speed automatic transmission also allows the vehicle to have a sports car type of feel.
Exterior
The outer framework of the ATS compact is both angular and extended, with LED headlights giving it an extra edge. Every exterior element, including the eccentric boomerang headlights, have a luxurious appeal to it. The coupe and sedan both have the same 109.3-inch wheelbase, however, the coupe is a bit wider, lower, and longer. For the ATS sedan, most trims involve standard 17-inch wheels, while the coupe versions involve 18-inch wheels, as well as the top-of-the-line sedans. Various 19-inch wheels are also available.
Interior and Standard Features
No matter sedan or coupe, a 2.0-L or V6, the interior of the 2018 Cadillac ATS is cultivated and refined in every way possible. Starting with the leather seating, which is standard on most models, however, base trims use faux Leatherette. Other details include available wood or carbon-fiber trim. Legroom for front-seat passengers is quite suitable, however, it can get a bit cramped in the back for coupe models.
The base ATS doesn’t hold out on its features, as it’s well equipped with plenty of comforts and technologies. Standard features include power front seats, Brembo performance front brakes, dual-zone automatic climate control, Qi wireless-charging phone cradle and GM’s OnStar communications system with 4G LTE connectivity and Wi-Fi. The brand’s CUE infotainment system assembles an 8-inch touch screen, Bose premium audio system, and Apple CarPlay and Android integration.
Moving up to the Luxury trim tacks on a leather interior, heated front seats and steering wheel, 60/40-split folding rear seats, front and rear parking sensors, navigation, and universal-garage remote.
