The 2019 Genesis G70 Is Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!

May 16th, 2022 by

The Genesis G70 is a compact executive car that was made to rival other luxury sedans and compacts in its segment, and it did just that by earring its rank as 2019 North American Car of the Year. If you’re looking for a sporty drive and an eye-catching design, look no further than the 2019 G70…and by the way, it also happens to be Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!

The 2019 G70 has two engine choices to choose from: the 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharger and the 3.3-twin-turbocharged V6. There are two transmission options and drive configurations, however, not every model will be available with each configuration.

The rear-wheel-drive (RWD) 2.0-L engine serves as the standard engine, with a healthy output of 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It also works with an 8-speed automatic transmission, though all-wheel-drive is optional. There is even a 6-speed manual transmission offered for this motor as well.

The more advanced twin-turbo V6 will be found in the 3.3T models. It comes with RWD and optional AWD, it’s also paired to an 8-speed transmission.

The Genesis G70 exudes elegance but also a fierce intensity. It makes a statement with its crisp design and strategically placed lines. While it is indeed fantastic, it doesn’t go over the top with a grille too big for its face or flashy embellishments.

The V6 on the other hand is a bit bolder in its exterior design, with exhaust outlets that sit far apart in the rear, as opposed to 2.0-L which has a duet of pipes sitting next to each other. Base models also ride on 18-inch wheels or available 19-inch wheels.

Interior and Standard Features

The 5-passenger cabin is best described as a 5-star lodge, as it ranges from grand to magnificent as you go up the trims. The base model starts off with faux-leather seats, while a striking 8-inch digital display sits above the dashboard. It also invites a few excitements like an auto-dimming rearview mirror and stainless-steel door sills.

Reaching up these trims will open up the door for more deluxe features such as genuine leather and a power-adjustable steering wheel, along with Nappa leather and seat ventilation.

The entry-level G70, has a great bundle of standard features, with favorites including Leatherette upholstery, 12-way-power driver’s seat and 8-way passenger seat, dual-zone climate control, and an infotainment system that bundles an 8-inch touch screen that works in tandem with Apple CarPlay and Android integration.

All of these 2019 Genesis models consist of a slew of smart safety and driver-assist features like forward-collision avoidance with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, and smart cruise control with stop-and-go.
