The Nissan Rogue continues to be a fan favorite among SUV lovers due to its long list of features, competitive cargo space, and incredibly welcoming interior design. On top of this, the compact vehicle has great fuel economy and even has an available hybrid powertrain. The 2019 Rogue’s family-friendly features, great styling, and comfortable cabin are exactly why it’s been chosen as Driver’s Auto Mart’s Used Car of The Week!

Engine and Drive

The 2019 Nissan Rogue gets its energy from a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, which has a modest 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. It has a good fuel economy of 26 (FWD) / 33 (AWD) mpg for the city and 25 (FWD) / 32 (AWD) mpg for the highway.

The second powertrain option is the automaker’s 2.0-liter, it also uses 4-cylinders and integrates an electric motor, which produces 176 horsepower. Of course, the fuel economy greatly improves to 33 (FWD) / 35 (AWD) mpg for the city and 31 (FWD) / 34 (AWD) mpg for the highway.

Both engines are paired to a CVT (continuously variable transmission) that powers either its front wheels (FWD) or all four (AWD). It also has three driving modes: Normal, Sport, and Eco.

The overall ride quality to top-notch as it’s incredibly comfortable and quiet on the road, even at highway speeds. Although the hybrid only outranks the 2.5-liter by six points it still has a great response. Not to mention, the eco-friendly engine can run on just electric power at low speeds for limited distances, which only improves its fuel-economy figures.

Exterior

The body of the Rogue compact has the creative use of bright colors, contoured lines and vigorous wheel designs that makes out a design that really catches the eye. The commanding “V-motion” grille and dramatic taillights help to create that necessary level of intensity. Available features like motion-activated power rear liftgate, 19-inch wheels, panoramic glass moonroof, and LED headlights really help give the SUV a posher look.

Interior and Standard Features

The enchantments of the outside are only intensified once you step in. The brand lives up to its reputation for creating a premium and snappy design in the interior. The leather-wrapped, flat-bottom steering wheel adds a level of sportiness to the driver’s side. The legroom and headroom are also solid in the front and second rows, with cargo room enhanced thanks to the EZ-Flex 40/20/40 split-2nd-row bench seats. Additionally, the “Zero Gravity” front seats in the SL models are incredibly supportive and comfortable.

There are plenty of fun surprises you’ll find in the entry-level Rogue S, as it has standard options like audio with Bluetooth phone/streaming and USB, a 7-inch touch-screen display, the Safety Shield system, a rearview camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Rear Door Alert, EZ-Flex seating, and the flexible Divide-n-Hide rear-cargo-storage system. It also comes with standard features like Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Safety Alert.

The games and prizes only ramp up from there with highlighting features on the SV model encompassing a power-adjust driver’s seat, 6-speaker audio, heated front seats and outside mirrors, dual-zone climate control, the motion-activated power liftgate plus privacy glass, and roof rails.

Finally, the SL model has standard comforts like leather seating, Bose audio, NissanConnect with 7-inch touch-screen navigation, the Around View monitor, a heated steering wheel, and ProPilot Assist with Intelligent Cruise Control.
